Fusion Mary Caiazza, a second grade teacher at Hudson Schoolin Long Beach, California: ìThe special education teacher at my school has created a form of inclusion we call ëfusion.í Instead of one of her students coming to my class for inclusion, my entire class goes to her room for art, music, and science. Although at first hesitant, my students have become very fond of her students and look forward to being with them and helping them daily. Both her students and mine have made tremendous growth in their self-esteem and social skills. Even the lowest achiever in my room has found someone s/he can peer-coach and the special education students are all exposed to positive modeling. For more details, please feel free to contact me.î |
